| The nine week Summer Program has approximately 25-30 children attending daily. Children spend a great deal of time outside where bathing suits are the regular attire. Because the school does not have swimming facilities, the group takes frequent trips to Sandy Beach in Medford and the Thompson School's wading pool. Sprinklers are often available outside.
The Summer Program is generally more relaxed than the school year, which allows for more flexibility in scheduling activities and for many projects to be completed while outdoors. Children take frequent field trips and neighborhood walks. In past summers there have been special visitors such as an ice cream vendor, puppet shows, animal visitors, and special music programs.
